Speaker Series

Description

Our Speaker Series provides a lecture-type program featuring seasoned professionals with a base of faith in Christ from academia, industry, and church leadership. They present topics around a theme from their experience and expertise in research, leadership concepts, and/or emerging cultural trends.  

The Speaker Series is scheduled in the Fall and Spring on select Thursday evenings from 7:30pm to 9:00pm at Grace Leadership Institute. Each hour-long lecture is followed by a Q&A. 

  • Doors open at 7:00 pm
  • Open to the public: registration is encouraged but not required
  • Refreshments are included
  • Parking is available next to the building, on the street, and at the Jones School Parking lot (enter from 7th Street between French and Holland Streets)

 

Fall Speaker Series

September 15, October 20, November 17 | 7:30pm – 9:00pm

 

Theme:  Servant Leadership: How to LEAD IN (LEAD-IN – something that leads into something else)

We hear of servant leadership, but what is it? Who is doing it, how is it demonstrated, and how does it work in different settings? In short, how do you LEAD IN through servant leadership? This Fall, we delve into some examples, practices, and outcomes of servant leadership.

  • This event is free and open to the public

Championship Leadership

September 15, 7:30pm – 9:00pm

Championships are never easy to win, but they are always a blast to share! Cleve Wright will share his thoughts, methods, and stories about servant leadership. This type of leadership does not come naturally to most people. It has to be planned, pursued, and celebrated. In our time together, we will talk about the critical elements and positions of leadership and the process for growing servant leaders.

Know Exactly What You Bring to the Table and Be Prepared to Serve

October 20, 7:30pm – 9:00pm

Heather will talk about the importance of securing, sharpening, and submitting your gifts/talents and using them right where you are to impact others through service where God has placed you in this season. You could be leading at home, at work, with your business, church, or community! Leaders are called to serve, so you must know exactly what you bring to the table.

Christian Leadership:
Call and Response

November 17, 7:30pm – 9:00pm

Dr. Lewis will focus on the call of Christians to serve through leadership across various contexts, including but not limited to Christian organizations; and Christians’ response to God’s call to lead through lives of humility, service, and gratitude.
